Denver Movers And Moving Services – Which One To Pick

Hiring movers should not be a task handled lightly. Take it from me. I have moved around so much people are starting to refer to me as a nomad. Most of the time I have hired movers to do all the work for me. When I first moved out of my parent’s house I did it myself. After all, I had about two boxes and the clothes on my back. Nowadays, I have a family and a house full of furniture to go with that. Movers are almost essential. Sure, I could call upon all of my friends, but then they never let you forget that time that they helped you move your piano up three flights of stairs with no elevator in the rain. With movers they arrive, the move you, you pay them, and never hear from them again. It is over.

Imagine that you are looking for a new car. Take the same approach to finding Denver movers. You want to use the internet and get all the information you can from there. Most likely, their site does not provide enough information to make an informed decision so you will need to call each company to speak to someone.

Write down a few company names on a sheet of paper with their phone number. If they provided any pertinent information on their site write that information down as well. Gather your thoughts and make a list of questions. You want to ask things that are applicable to your situation but there are a few that everyone should ask.

When you call ask about their availability for the date of your move. Make sure you are both on the same page about time that you would need them to start. The most important question of all is, “How much do you charge?” Keep in mind that their charge is probably an hourly charge and it should include Denver movers. Make sure you have a clear understanding about that and if they have any minimum requirements.

Within that charge you were quoted find out everything that is included in that charge. They may provide extras for you, but more than likely they do not. Most include a dolly, but will probably charge if any extra packing material is used during the move. Find out what you will be responsible for before they begin working that day.

The day of your move make sure that whatever needs to be ready before they get there has been taken care of. The last thing you want is for them to show up and you are running around like a chicken with its head cut off. When they do arrive that is usually the time that they start charging so keep that in mind. They are providing a service to you and you want to make sure that they do that service for you. Watch for anyone trying to take breaks or make calls during time that you are being charged for. You do not pay them for that.

Once they have completed their end of the job make sure to check all your items for any issues. Question them immediately if anything seems wrong. Make sure nothing was missed or is left in their truck. When they ask you for payment you want to triple check the receipt to ensure that it is accurate. If you did not see them use any packing materials, but see that they are charging for it then ask them about that. Get a copy of the receipt, as well.

Then once they are gone you can start working on unloading boxes or cleaning. Breathe a sigh of relief because you do not feel drained from spending the entire day dealing with the move yourself. There was no arguing and no complaining.
