Leitz Microscope
Much has been written about Leitz microscopes and how to use them. Microscopes can certainly open up a tiny new world before our eyes. Unfortunately, good quality microscopes are fiarly expensive, so not every home is blessed with a microscope for their children. Few adults outside of science labs ever experience the wonder of looking through the eyepiece to see the hidden world around us revealed.
Fortunately, Leitz microscopes do an excellent job of this, and for our scientists and researchers, they are an absolute necessity. If you’ve been looking for a Leitz microscope, it may pay to shop around a bit, as a good one at a good price can be hard to find.
Although some people decry the Leitz microscope for being old-fashioned looking, the view you’ll get is not compromised when you look through the lens.
In most compound light microscopes, you’ll get a variety of magnification levels through 2 or 3 rotating lenses that adjust to give you the best view, depth of field and magnification level for what you’re viewing. Also, if you’re having trouble viewing your specimen, adjust the eyepieces, sometimes these need focusing or, if you’re looking through binocular eyepieces, you might need to move them closer together or farther apart, depending on the spacing of your eyes.
Whatever type of microscope you decide to get, be it a Leitz, or another brand, make sure you do your homework and shop around so that you can find a model that works for you and is within your price range.
